I could probably post about 14 Tracks every week: the quality of each of these 7 quid online compilations is consistently high and I've come to think of them as up there alongside some of Radio 1 and 1Xtra's specialist output (MAH, Benji B) as my window into contemporary electronica.
But it's not all beats with 14 Tracks - far from it. Last week's gem is a compilation of acoustic pieces recorded down the year's for the late avant-folk guitarist John Fahey's Takoma label, founded back in 1959.
I was aware of some of the names here, but not many, not really being a follower of acoustic guitar much. I thought it'd be instructive to look up some video of some of the performers. Here's what I tuned up with a brief search; quite a lot here is amteur UGC, handheld-filming 'n' all, so bear that in mind...
And of course, the man himself...
